1. Abstract
Methotrexate has folic acid antagonist’s activity and it has greater affinity for dihydrofolate reductase than dihydrofolate. Methotrexate competitively blocks dihydrofolate reductase enzyme which responsible for the conversion of tetrahydrofolate from dihydrofolate. Dihydrofolate reductase enzyme is indispensable for the production of a diversity of coenzymes that are included in the generation of purines, thymidylate, methionine and glycine.
